Hey Let's Talk About That Movie or Whatever

Hey Let's Talk About Tinglers brings you Halloween in November! This episode was so scary that, at some indeterminate point, Kevin fainted and disappeared forever. But don't worry! For if you feel yourself become scared while listening, you can simply smash your computer in the floor, then run away and assume a new identity. You'll probably be safe then, I bet. Vincent Price joins us to discuss The Tingler, starring Dylan. Jaelle comes back to the podcast for the first time since the first episode. Then there's some mild video game talk, we tell you how to protect yourself from the cops if you go through time for weird sex reasons, and one scene in this podcast was shot in color! So stick some buzzers up under you. And enjoy.

It's that time of year again... six months after Halfoween... when the air chills, the leaves change, the earth turns, the floodgates swing open, and Satan vomits filth out of hell, just as it was in the days of Lot, when inhuman ghouls transform the streets into an unending orgy of human blood, vexing the souls of God's most devout saints. So we watched the biopic about Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys. If you value your ego, hang onto it dearly, my friends, for you place your very mind at peril by listening aghast and helpless as Logan does scary voice, everybody laughs like creeps, and also there's thunder and a few other sounds! MWAHAHAHAAA!!!!!

This dictionary defines the word "battery" as: 1) a pitcher and catcher considered as a unit 2) the act of beating or pounding. And this film, The Battery, explores both of those heavily! Also there's zombies. The ratio of talking about movies to talking about whatever is off the charts in this episode. By this show's standards, anyhow. Kevin picks the movie for the Halloween episode (eventually) and Logan is a criminal pessimist. So go ahead and put this episode on, cause it's like rain on a tin roof. Interpret that however you wish.

Dear Vista, I've been meaning to write this episode description for a long time, but as you know, I'm not very good at summarizing what we talked about. So I'll just say this. I hope you listen. I hope you rate and subscribe on whatever podcatcher you like the most. Dylan came back this week. I hope he comes back again next week, but as these things go... I know that won't be the case. I seem to recall there was a time when we had a long and pointless discussion about M. Night Shyamalan. I still wonder why we did that. Probably because Matt got too drunk. I love you, Vista. The Guest is a rollercoaster of chills, thrills, spills... and kills! Sorry to sound like a shill, but I'm filled with goodwill cause this movie was ill. So for rill, if you want fun packed to the gills, pop some corn on your grills, pop open a pils and kick back and sit still cause this film fits the bill. Kevin isn't on this episode.

Close your eyes. You're ascending a staircase which winds upward into the sky. It seems endless. But somehow with each step, you feel more comfortable, more fulfilled, and more committed. All you can think of is taking the next step. And then the next. And the next. You can barely contain the excitement which swells exponentially until finally you emerge from the staircase onto a bright plain of perfect peace and joy. Yet there's a twinge of sorrow in your heart, for there are no more steps to climb. Then you see it: an electronic device. It's connected to the internet. It's yours. And you realize: The next step is downloading this podcast. And the next is listening to it. And the next is rating it. Five stars. Do you trust us? We try to think of names for our cult and get the news of Wes Craven's death. Then Kevin picks a bunch of movies and everybody yells at each other. Someday this podcast will be a mountain.

This week we got a glimpse at an Australia where gas don't work, zombies power cars, (one car, anyhow) and Dr. Funkenstein be experimenting on people til they get weird zombie powers. Is that legal?? Don't be stupid.

Whenever I close a door... I open a window. Then I watch Open Windows. But I make sure that door is really shut first, cause I don't want nobody walking by to see Sasha Grey on webcam and get the wrong idea about what's going on in here. I should probably close that window, too... now that I'm thinking about it. I'm just watching a movie in here, guys! Cool it! Anyways, Matt can't talk good no more, Dylan is still missing, and we welcome a new friend to join our colorful cast of podcast characters. It's Jamie! Hi, Jamie.

After watching Ravenous, we ate Dylan to gain his strength. It did not work, so we keep pretending that he just hasn't shown up for a while. Kevin wants to wear bees, Matt contributes depressing factoids tangentially related to this movie, and Logan gets lost in Neal McDonough's eyes. Meat is murder... and murder... is delicious. We are available as tagline writers. Not good, necessarily. But available.

If Domhnall Gleeson's character from this movie wrote this description, he'd probably start off with a lame pun and then immediately give up because he is empty inside. Frankly, I don't have time for that. Kevin shows up late and Matt sounds drunker than usual. Commercialism sucks. #nomnomnom

Interesting fact: Kevin was on this episode, but all of his dialogue was deemed superfluous and was cut for time, thereby strengthening the podcast as a whole. Dylan has apparently accepted a buzz marketing position for a notable Time Warner subsidiary known as the Home Box Office. And we realize that we're all in this together. Actually we forgot to do that last thing. We'll do better next time. We can do better.

If it's in a word or in a stray pet's walkabout fat groovy store not clever, Hey Let's Talk About That Movie or Whatever. Sorry. Anyhow, we talked about The Babadook. We only did the scary voice a couple of times, and Australian accents even less. So give a listen, ya bloomin' onion.

Who are you? Who am I? Who are we together? All questions that could be asked. But instead of facing ourselves, we watched The One I Love and then talked about it. A lot! We get into some real talk about relationships and editing podcasts and how long movies are and even some other stuff! What other stuff? We'll talk about it later!!!!

Too long and poorly produced, this episode has a lot in common with the movie Nightbreed: The Director's Cut. Two things, at the very least. But perhaps it also has something valuable to offer to those willing to seek it. I guess what I'm trying to say is Logan liked this movie.

This podcast is an American remake of an Icelandic podcast called "Hey, Við Skulum Tala Um Myndina eða Hvað" about three people who watched Prince Avalanche and then talked about it. At the end, Kevin shows up and they play a game. I prefer the original, but then I am extremely smart and cultured. *smokes pipe whilst nodding*
